«Ich war einmal an der Landsgemeinde im Dorf unten. Da stand ich ausserhalb vom Ring, weil ich ja nicht abstimmen darf. Ein Bauer kam vorbei und fragte „Gasch nid inni, Marie ?“ Und ich antwortete, nein, ich dürfe ja nicht wählen. Da sagte er: „Aber wieso ? Bisch doch e üserigi !“ Das hat mich so gefreut.»
“I was once at the cantonal assembly down in the village. I was standing outside the circle because I wasn’t allowed to vote. A farmer went past and said, ‘Aren’t you going in, Marie?’ And I said no because I wasn’t allowed to vote. To which he replied ‘But why not? You’re one of us’. That really made my day.”
